Andrew was laid to rest on Saturday, March 6th. The turnout was, again, overwhelming! We said our good-byes to our dear, sweet, precious boy - his body is laid in the earth, but his soul is free and dancing with Jesus in heaven.

The paper again paid tribute to Andrew with this article: http://www.journalnet.com/articles/2004/03/07/news/local/news11.txt

As our extended family has left, we will be escaping for a while to rebuild our family. While it has been a hard, long road, we have learned a great deal about faith, love, and the value of the family of Christ. At the funeral we had a small book for people to write how Andrew affected their lives. I would like to extend this to all of you. If you would like to tell us (and the rest of the world) how Andrew or our family has changed your life in some way, please e-mail me at mnelson@amis.com. With the help of Kevin Davis, we will be converting Andrew's web site into a memorial and we will include your writings in that site. If you do not want your writing on the web site but simply want to express your feelings to us alone, please indicate that in your e-mail. If you want to have your note included in the website without your name, we will honor that too.

Thank you all SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for your love and support!

May God bless you and keep you, may His face shine on you and be gracious to you, may He lift up your countenance and give you peace.

Mark, Melissa, Brittney, Kelsey, and Andrew

Many thanks for all the encouragement - e-mails, calls, visits, etc. We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support!

The funeral will be Saturday at 2pm at Grace Lutheran Church. Viewings will be Friday night 7-9 at Henderson-Cornelison Funeral Home (431 N. 15th) and on Saturday from 12-2pm at the church (1350 N. Baldy). For maps and driving directions, you can use MapQuest or Yahoo or this document.

The local paper wrote a excellent, very touching article on Andrew for today's paper. You can see it at: http://www.journalnet.com/articles/2004/03/04/news/local/news01.txt

Andrew's obituary (with all of the service information) is also listed in the same issue: http://www.journalnet.com/articles/2004/03/04/community/deaths/obits01.txt

There are no words to say that can express our thanks to you adequately. Your prayers, love, and encouragement have kept us going and God has indeed held us in the palm of his hand. Thank you all so much!

Andrew Christian Nelson left us for heaven today at 11:00am. He is finally at peace. We are sad to lose him and rejoice that he is free of all the pain and suffering he has endured in his short life.

Please remember our family in prayer as we struggle with his loss. And thank the Lord for freeing Andrew from his diseased and broken body. We've lost our only son - God gave up his only Son so that Andrew can be free.

God's blessings to you all!
